  1. Hi, Neighbor! I live in Eastern NC (the land of eternal winter, or so it seems this year, LOL)…I found your blog by way of “Stuff My Brain Thinks” and wandered over. Looking so forward to reading your posts!

  2. Like reading about fellow healthy human beings, haha πŸ˜‰ Thanks for following my blog, I’m looking forward to reading your posts too!

  3. Hi, you!

I love your blog and have nominated you for the Liebster Award. If you are interested in participating, just follow the link and it will explain the steps you need to take.

    http://musingsfromaworkaholic.com/2014/03/23/a-liebster-me/

This award may increase exposure for you and your blog, if that is of interest to you. And apologies if it isn’t something that you would like to participate in. Stay in touch! I hope you’ll participate, because I am looking forward to your post!  I’m nosey like that, LOL.

      • You’re welcome! I really enjoy your writing, and you are so inspirational to me (and so many others)! There are days I simply don’t feel like getting off the couch, and then you go and post something, and I get up and get it done. πŸ˜€

      • I think you are simply amazing! I have friends who have had gastric bypass and while they started out well, they didn’t stick with it, so it’s just terrific to see someone who did something about it and went on to stick with it and keep going!

Losing weight is hard, and oftentimes it is so much easier to simply throw in the towel, and you didn’t! You have so much to be proud of!

  4. I’ve done it again…. πŸ˜‰ I just really love this blog…

Because I find your blog simply wonderful, I have put you up for one or two awards (you can accept one, both, or neither, LOL); The Sunshine Award and the Sisterhood of the World Bloggers Award. All the information you need is over at http://musingsfromaworkaholic.com/2014/04/20/sunshine-sisterhood-sunday/ I absolutely get it if you have so much going on that you don’t post, but wanted you to know that I really enjoy your posts, and wanted to share them with my readers, as well. πŸ™‚

      • Girl, if we lived closer, I would bring you bouquets of veggies. Seriously! Your blog is just…wow…You are SO real and genuine and…well HONEST with your posts. You have really put yourself out there, and that is so brave! Ok, and it doesn’t hurt that you have terrific taste in shoes, either. πŸ˜‰ Keep writing!!!! ❀

  5. HI, banded Carolina girl. Thanks for stopping by my blog and liking something. I am enjoying my visit to yours. Very sorry that you are under such stress right now. Family sickness and hospice care is a heavy load, no two ways about that. Remember life is a one day at a time deal. Take solace from small victories. Stress is brutal on our systems. Work on some relaxation techniques to deal with it. Good luck!

      • Bless you for honoring and empowering yourself to live a healthy life. I find one moment at a time is best. No expectations, nothing to fix only love. It is hard work pat yourself on the back and see yourself vibrant and expressing your authentic self.

  6. Thank you for stopping by my blog and liking my post! It’s nice to see another Carolina woman here. Keep inspiring people on your journey!

  7. A co worker of mine is on the same journey as you have been on, I’m going to share your blog with her. LOVE LOVE LOVEβ™₯ Thanks for stopping by todayβ™₯ I love your message hereβ™₯

  8. How inspiring! These are the kind of stories I like to keep up with.
It’s a daily struggle but you have shown that you continue to
pish thru it even when sh*t gets real. The ones that come after
us deserves to know the truth! Thanks for sharing…. Monica

    • to start is easy…..to continue that path (daily) as you mentioned is hard and one thing that can make or break us is our minds (thinking)……if we think we cant….well, we most likely wont …….thanks for the comment my friend..we can do this

      • well at first it was very hard. many had issues with balance and nausea. it takes time to get over it. then their doctors told them to build as much muscle as possible. then the doctors staple away the loose skin and do plastic surgery to cut away the loose skin then tighten it up and take care of the scars.

      • yes, my ins denied my skin surgery last summer…dr said i have about 20 to 25 pounds on my stomach alone..sorry, i cant believe i told a nice looking man that..hope you still β™₯ me πŸ™‚

      • well, extra 25 pounds of stomach skin that i put there…..but it is what it is…..def keep going forward and hoping the world wont judge me so harshly as i know they do…

  9. I wanted to first thank you for liking my post on my blog, it means a lot to get a high five so to speak when you are vulnerable and put yourself out for the whole world to see. I had a relative who went in for bariatric surgery this last winter, and ended up having complications with the procedure and she passed away in the hospital. It was a heart breaking blow to my family, and we are still in shock that she is gone. She is my motivation to get healthy, to take my wellness into my own hands before my life goes down the same path as hers did. Thank you for sharing your story, and I am looking forward to reading more of your blog posts πŸ™‚

  10. You visited by blog and liked my WLS certification post, THANK YOU! Reading about your story and progress is inspiring, and I can see that you are an inspiration to others. Congratulations on your life changing journey, It will continue to reward you. I hope that you visit my site for more info and find something that you can apply to your life and share with others.
    In fitness, Bob

  11. Good Morning, Virginia! Your story is amazing and congratulations on all your hard work and successes. I’ve been reading your blog for a while and am a fan. I’m also a WLS woman – I had VSG “the sleeve” in June 2013. Both pre and post op weight loss total 137 lbs. I made a poor decision last Christmas when I decided to eat “just one pumpkin chocolate chip cookie” and haven’t been able to stop eating sugar since. I know I’m addicted – I’ve always known that and yet I still sometimes believe that crafty, sly voice that says “just one will be okay”. I’ve regained 30 lbs unhappily. So the rosiness of the honeymoon success is over and the hard work is on – keeping the weight off. We can do this, though! We are both strong and very capable! Keep on keeping on and I will do same! xo Anne

      • Absolutely! ! ! We can! It is a life-long accomplishment and it has ups and downs and it will be with us as long as we breathe. As far as anyone saying you failed your WLS that doesn’t sit well with me and as far as I’m concerned you are a huge success! You got to go on TV and make a commercial for the tool, right???? You wouldn’t do that unless you are a success. The thing about this life-long issue is just that, it is life-long and sometimes we will gain some weight back and sometimes we are being very healthy and it comes off again. The only person we need to please is ourselves and we don’t like ourselves much when we aren’t treating our tool and our body right. And yes I do believe anyone that has an issue with weight gain and unhealthy eating habits will understand our struggle. We are all in the same struggle whether we’ve had a tool or not. Hang in there – we sure CAN do this! ! !

  12. Thank you for the like on my blog. I like yours very much What an inspiring lady you are … I look forward to reading much more because I’ve followed you to make sure I keep up πŸ™‚
